Currently, Planet Hope has partnered with the Alexis Arquette Project within the Violence Intervention Program’s Leonard Hill Hope center in downtown Los Angeles and Miracles for Kids’ Miracle Manor in Orange County, California to develop and implement computer-based tutoring centers and programs. At this moment, the state of foster care within Los Angeles is in the spotlight, particularly with regard to high-risk youth and teens. Lacking adequate resources, these youth have been locked in a spiral of systematic neglect that has resulted in a growing number of youth failed foster placements every year and insufficient care for children in crisis. The Leonard Hill Hope Center’s focus and attention is on bringing together all of the services urgently needed to keep high-risk youth safe and help them successfully transition into adulthood.
Miracles for Kids helps families with food, clothing, shelter and more—so they can focus on the care their child needs. Families in crisis can get overwhelmed by expensive housing costs, so Miracle Manor helps relieve this burden. They have a holistic approach to healing families, from healthcare and counseling to outdoor activities and more.
